Debra Seeck, also known as Mz Jitterbug, will start the lessons at 8 p.m. with bachata — that's a sensual Dominican Republic dance — and some cha-cha. Then, at 9, it's time to salsa.
"I teach beginning steps, but I'll thrown in an intermediate move sometimes if I feel that the crowd is getting it and wants something more," Seeck said. "It's very interactive. We always start out with the basic footwork, the basic partner moves, and then we throw in turns and stuff, and if they feel like they want more than that, I give it to them."
Seeck said she usually gets between 15 and 20 people; you're welcome to show up as a couple or alone.
After the lesson, you can stick around to dance at the nightclub, which is located inside El Patron Sports Bar and Grill, located at 3960 Center St. NE, and it is for those 21 and older.
Cover is $7. For more information, call (971) 239-5340 or go to www.myspace.com/dulcetevents .
