Bachata sensation Aventura kicks off four concerts at Madison Square Garden next Wednesday, the first Latin act to do a quartet of shows at the venue.
Though the first two concerts (Jan. 20-21) have been billed as sold out for weeks, tickets ($64-$130) were still available yesterday on Ticketmaster.com for all four shows.
“The first and second night are technically sold out,” said John Reilly, the group’s publicist, “[But] there may be a few seats that have come back into the system.”
Only tickets in the top level of the 18,500-seat Garden are available for the first two nights. For the last two, Feb. 1 and 2, a variety of seats can still be purchased.
The Bronx-bred foursome, whose “The Last” was 2009’s top-selling Latin CD, is going head to head with Lady Gaga, who opens four concerts at Radio City also next Wednesday.
“If all shows sell through, she’ll be at 24,000 [tickets sold] and we’ll be at 74,000,” boasts Reilly. “It kind of just shows the drawing power.”
