A Very Generous Donation
Just days ago, I informed the community that I was looking towards them for donations. We've recently launched a community website called www.network.jsmoothsalsa.com. It takes some extra money to run the website, and I was skeptical on whether anyone will help out.
However skepticism was put to the side when Robert and Mai, two attendees of our salsa lessons, donated $150 (one hundred fity dollars) to the website! I was suprised that anyone would donae that much money!
Thanx for all the lessons, funs, water bottles, parties etc... we are very grateful for all your tireless effort and enthusiasm.
Best Robert & Mai.
It is because of their generosity that our community website, jsmoothsalsa.com/network (also www.network.jsmoothsalsa.com) that we will be safe to say that the community website will be online for another year.
The Wrong Side of Town
It was probably one of the saddest moments in my life.
East San Jose: the deadliest place to live on this side of the Pacific. You can't go 10 feet without seeing bullet casings, bullet-riddled walls, and blood. Darker than any of the east-side of towns (East Palo Alto, East Los Angeles, East Sunnyvale) I fear for my life every time I drive home.
Birthday w/ Jeison

It's all about the birthday person on a birthday right? Last night was Jeison Aguilar's birthday... the same man that help start club Azul on Wedsdays, Havanisimo, and Timba Saturdays.
Meetup with jSmoothSalsa
Meetup.com helps. The website allows founders to create events that spark interest in the community. People who are new to their area or have lack of friends can look up their interest (be it kayaking, ping pong, movies, etc.) and find others to hang out with.
So it's not unusual to see a Meetup for the salsa community. Excluding Salsa Meetups outside of the bay area, there are currently Four organizations in the Northern Cali Bay Area. However, the one group that deserves attention is the one that is consistently active: The South Bay Salsa Meetup Group.
The 81th Birthday of Mr. Maracas
Last night at the Glas Kat was Guillermo "Mr. Maracas" birthday celebration. There was appetizers, there was cake, but more importantly it was a day to recognize the 81 year old's years of contribution to the salsa community.
Kiwi
Today was a stress day. Things were rolling in my mind that needed to be done. New salsagang features, project deadline, organizing a meeting with a new dance instructor, future errands that need to be addressed, website updates....it kept going on on and on.
Feather Choosing
I cannot dislike or hate someone that is not attracted to me. We all have our differences in what we deem what is an attractive quality or not. However what I do dislike is when someone thinks I’m not attractive and acts towards me like a snob... the attitude "you're not attractive enough for me to be friends with you."
Twelve
After buying a pair of shoes and renting snowshoes, we made the drive out to The Meadow on the backside of Mt. Rose in Reno. The weather was cloudy and the temperature was a steady 30 degrees Fahrenheit or so.
A Cheating Heart
"Once a cheater, always a cheater." How true does this hold? For the human society, we have deemed adultery or cheating one one's significant as taboo. Unlike the lions or the sea lions we devote ourselves to one person and one person alone. Why has society deemed it so that this is the case? Why don't women have multiple partners like in a pack or vice versa?
Company Xmas Parties
Ahhhhh, tis the season for free parties, free booze, and likely free Xerox copies of someone's butt. Were you the one last year that got drunk and got naked while dancing on the Xerox machine last year? Not me, but heed the following dos and don'ts and you'll do just fine.
