SJSU Attendance Slips
Discussion started by Jimmy , on 24 November 08:15 AM
There's a reason why I don't sign the slips during the middle of class...
As part of their class requirements, students from SJSU must attend a dance class outside of their usual lesson. They get a signature from the instructor they attended, and they turn them in.
To handle this onslaught, a form was created for students to print out and have the instructor sign. Why? Because it costs $.15 cents or so for each flyer which could be better spent advertising... not used for a permission/signature slip.
Those students that do visit the site and print the form, thank you very much. I have always appreciated and admired anyone who can read instructions. I also appreciate those students who ask to have their slips signed at the end of class.
One of the annoyances that occur are students that want their slips signed at 8:00.... or those who come at 8:30 and expect a signature at 9:00pm. Last week, I, by lack of thought, signed 2 slips at 8:00. All of a sudden at least 5-10 students came up asking their slips to be signed, during the middle of a lesson.
From now on, all slips will be signed after class only. All instructors will be informed of this change in policy, regardless if the SJSU requirement states only 1 hour is needed.
