Surprise Dip

Surprise Dip
Start - Single open hold (left hand).

123 - Open break to close-line position.
(After breaking follower, the lead moves their right hand to
567 - Surprise dip to recover with body twist.

Notes: lead's right hand just below level of follower's neck during dip. Body is twisted to the right to return to basic from dip recovery. Follower's left arm is flared while right is around lead's neck.

Knee Dip

Knee Dip
Start - Cross hold.

123 - Open break.
567 - Hammerlock to knee dip to recovery.
(The dip is in 3 counts. Lead first turns the follower into a hammerlock by keeping the right hand hold at the waist while turning with the left. The lead's right knee drops to ground while dipping follower to the left. Lead then brings the follower back up by count 7.)
123 - Basic.

Open Dip

Open Dip
Start - Open hold.

123 - Open break.
(Leads push follower away with the left hand.)
567 - Hand switch to open pose.
(After the break, lead guides follower to their right side with the left hand and switches follower's right hand to the right hand. At that time lead and follower are in a line from each other, with the lead and follower facing perpendicular, if not diagonal, to line of dance.)
123 - Inside wrap for dip.
(With right hand, lead pulls follower into a wrap just before dip.)
567 - Dip with recovery.
123 - Outside turn.
(After bringing follower up from dip, lead turns follower by pulling follower from the left waist with the right hand.)
567 - Forward basic.

Note: For dip, dip follower by bending left knee out, right leg straight. Before actual dip, bring follower's right arm around neck and then move your left hand to follower's back right under neck. Right hand is at follower's left waist.

Dip from Right Underarm Step

Dip from Right Underarm Step
Start - Open hold.

123 - Right underarm step.
(Releasing left hand hold, lead steps to the right and under follower's left arm. Bring hold back down to waist level.)
567 - Inside turn wrap for dip.
(With right hand, lead pulls follower into a wrap just before dip.)
123 - Dip.*
567 - Double outside turn.
123 - Basic.

Dip from Cross-body Inside Turn

Dip from Cross-body Inside Turn
Start - Open hold.

123 - Set-up for cross-body.
567 - Cross-body inside turn.
(Turn follower with left hand left and catch follower for dip.)
123 - Dip.*
567 - Double outside turn.
(After bringing follower up from dip, lead turns follower with left hand.)

*Note: For dip, dip follower by bending left knee out, right leg straight. Before actual dip, bring follower's right arm around neck and then move your left hand to follower's back right under neck. Right hand is at follower's left waist.

Cross-body Wrap to Tunnel to Lead Wrap to Inside Turn to Dip
Start - Open hold.

123 - Basic.
567 - Cross-body wrap.
(With the left hand, pull the follower into a wrap during the cross-body. Both hands remain connected.)
123 - Tunnel step.
(From the wrap, the lead pushes the follower back through the arm hold while taking a step forward.)
567 - Lead right turn to shadow wrap.
(From the tunnel, the lead turns right and wraps into the follower while being in front of the follower.)
123 - Switch to butterfly hold, then left turn to right shoulder check.
(The lead lets go of the hand holds and reconnects with the left on the follower's left and the right hand on the follower's right. On 2, the lead releases the right hand hold and steps left to check the follower's right shoulder with the right hand.)
567 - Travelling outside turn.
(The lead pushes the follower into a travelling left turn and prepares to catch the follower in a dip.)
123 - Dip.
