Intermediate Salsa Lesson
8:00pm - 9:30pm

Cost: $5 per day

No sign-up required.

The goal of our intermediate workshops is to provide challenging, yet informative, lessons that push the beginning salsa dancer from Beginning Level to Intermediate Level. Although they are called intermediate lessons they are meant to teach intermediate concepts to beginning level dancers. However, a certain level of experience is required. It will be assumed that you have met the following milestones:

  • Able to perform the basic steps without thinking mentally
  • Understand the basics of the Crossbody Lead
  • Understand the basics for performing Turns

No effort will be taken to explain the basic steps during the intermediate lessons. Money will not be refunded after payment.

View the following for specifics on what we will teach each week.

ImageEvery 1st Tuesday of the Month: Salsa Footwork/Shines

Every 1st Tuesday of the month will cover intermediate concepts such as turns, rhythm and musicality through shines. Shines are a very important part to understanding how to be a better dancer by developing a strong foundation within every leader and follower.

Parrish Danforth 2nd TuesdaysEvery 2nd Tuesday of the Month: Casino de Rueda

This Cuban style salsa is danced with a partner, and pairs are arranged in a circle. When it's called out, everyone passes partners and keeps dancing. Casino is danced to Timba. a Cuban style of salsa with African influences. The classes will be beginner level, but please be confident with the fundamentals of salsa, especially the cross body lead. Classes are very active and fun.  Feel free to wear sneakers or gym shoes to class.
