Tuesday Mixed Salsa Lessons means we offer different variations of "On-1" style of salsa lessons offered during our Thursday or Friday lessons. Expand your knowledge of Salsa by learning it's different variiants by our talented team of instructors. The goal of our mixed Salsa lessons is to provide challenging, yet informative, lessons that push the beginning salsa dancer into variations of Salsa dancing that they may not be aware of. A certain level of experience is recommended. It will be assumed that you have met the following milestones:
- Able to perform the basic steps without thinking mentally
- Understand the basics of the Crossbody Lead
- Understand the basics for performing Turns
Little effort will be taken to explain the basic steps during the intermediate lessons. Money will not be refunded after payment.
View the following for specifics on what we will teach each week.
Every 1st Tuesday of the Month: Salsa Footwork/Shines Every 1st Tuesday of the month will cover intermediate concepts such as turns, rhythm and musicality through shines. Shines are a very important part to understanding how to be a better dancer by developing a strong foundation within every leader and follower.

Every 2nd Tuesday of the Month: Salsa How does one move, think, and learn like a dancer, and be relaxed while social dancing with new moves? Come to a class taught by Dennis at JSmooth Salsa! From the first minute class starts, your mind and body are exposed to exercises, information, and practices that when used will shorten the awkward stages of being a beginner OR transitioning to being an intermediate dancer. Most of the class time consists of learning a practical, no pressure set of moves that are combined into a pattern because they fit the music and present concepts useful for the the students dancing life. Preceding that are 15 minutes of Latin dancing warm up exercises, cross genre dancer stretches, and very focused basic movement practices. Teaching experience has taught Dennis that repeated exposure, eventual learning, and finally regular practice of everything in the class WILL lead to more enjoyable dancing, and better socialising and playing while dancing, (because the brain and the body don't have to work so hard while dancing!)
