Intermediate Lesson

The goal of our intermediate workshops is to provide challenging, yet informative, lessons that push the beginning salsa dancer from Beginning Level to Intermediate Level. Although they are called intermediate lessons they are meant to teach intermediate concepts to beginning level dancers. However, a certain level of experience is required. It will be assumed that you have met the following milestones:

Able to perform the basic steps without thinking mentally
Understand the basics of the Crossbody Lead
Understand the basics for performing Turns

No effort will be taken to explain the basic steps during the intermediate lessons. Money will not be refunded after payment.

Every 1st Tuesday of the Month: Salsa Footwork/Shines

Every 1st Tuesday of the month will cover intermediate concepts such as turns, rhythm and musicality through shines. Shines are a very important part to understanding how to be a better dancer by developing a strong foundation within every leader and follower.

Every 2nd Tuesday of the Month: Bachata Lessons

Instead of salsa lessons, we offer Bachata lessons every second Tuesday of the month. We are the first dance studio to offer Bachata lessons in the South Bay! Cost is also $5.00.

Due to the nature of Bachata dancing, we require that our attendees follow good, social hygeine. Refer to our FAQ on Bachata Lessons.

Every 3rd Tuesday of the Month: Intermediate Patterns

Every 3rd Tuesday will be focused on learning complex patterns with plenty of dance practice time during the lesson. You will also have the opportunity to dance with the instructor's as a lead or follow in addition to being in a semi-private class setting. Much attention will be paid both to the followers and leaders turns, copa's, multiple spins, styling, pivot turns, and more. Plan to learn lots, have fun, and get good!

Every 4th Tuesday of the Month: Intermediate Patterns

There's nothing but patterns taught on every 4th Tuesday of the month. For 75 minutes we cover up to three patterns (of 8 counts each) in addition to basics or Crossbody Leads used to link the patterns together. A good night for those looking for a solid intermediate lesson and already understand the basics, Crossbody Leads, Turns, and Open Breaks.

Every 5th Tuesday of the Month: Smooth Styling

Not every month has a 5th Tuesday but when there is we have this special night in styling. On every 5th Tuesday that occurs, intermediate lessons will have an emphasis on styling and flares for both men and women. Learn the jSmooth style!
